Vladimir Shklyarov, Honored Artist of Russia and Prime Minister of the Mariinsky Theater, has died. This is reported by the theater’s press service.
“Tonight the audience’s favorite, the star of the Mariinsky Theater premiere, Vladimir Shklyarov, tragically passed away. This is a great loss for the entire staff of the Mariinsky Theater. Our deepest condolences to the artist’s family, his friends and all fans of his work and talent.” – says the message.
Shklyarov was 39 years old.
Vladimir Shklyarov was born in 1985 in Saint Petersburg. Graduated from the Russian Ballet Academy. A. Ya Vaganova (class of Professor VI Afanaskov) in 2003.
That same year he was accepted into the Mariinsky Theater company. In 2009 he won 1st prize and the gold medal at the Moscow International Ballet Competition. Since 2011 – premiere of the Mariinsky Theater. Over two decades of his stage career, his repertoire has become truly immense. He is equally magnificent in classical and dramatic ballet, masterpieces of 20th century choreography and modern productions.
