Chairman of the Republican Council of the public association “Belarusian Union of Officers” Sergei Bobrikov decided to stop participating in the election campaign for the presidential elections. He told representatives of the Belarusian media today, November 12, about this.
“I will not hide it from myself: the decision is serious, complex and was not easy. But there are compelling arguments. I am not only a member of the Supreme Political Council of the Bélaya Rus party, which supported my candidacy, but also a member of the Belarusian Officers’ Union, chairman of its Republican Council. “These circumstances place an even greater responsibility on the people who nominated me.” – said.
According to Bobrikov, numerous requests from officials began to arrive from the registration of the initiative group.
“These were the following words: today our republic is going through a very difficult time, to save the country, ensure its stability, the main task of the officer corps is to support our commander in chief and support the current one. president in the next elections. To ensure the cohesion of the officer corps, to avoid double thinking among the military, to support the current Head of State and our leader, I made this decision.” – Bobrikov emphasized.
Let us remember that the presidential elections in Belarus are scheduled for January 26, 2025. A campaign to collect signatures for nomination as a presidential candidate is currently underway.
