The first STATEMENT of Nari’s released father to the press

The investigation continues into the case of eight-year-old Narin Gura, who went missing on August 21 in Turkey’s Diyarbakır province and whose body was found in a sack in a stream bed near the village 19 days later.

Nari’s father, Arif Guran, who was arrested along with other suspects and later released, has given his first statement to the press.

About this Oku.Az Reports with reference to the Turkish press.

“My wish was that my daughter would be found alive. We have been saying from day one that the State is here. The State did more than it could. Even the presence of my daughter’s grave is the result of the State’s efforts.

There is already a confidentiality order on the investigation. Whoever did it, God willing, the State will find it and reveal it to everyone. My first statement to the prosecutor and my last statement are the same. I don’t want to say anything about the investigation. The State doesn’t share anything with me. I know what you know.

The state can arrest anyone for this investigation. The state can bring any suspected person into the investigation. It can even involve the entire village until the investigation is over. I shared with the gendarmerie who I suspected.

If I suspected someone, I would report them to the gendarmerie. The village consists of 90 houses. There are only 10 houses with the name Guran. They have been living in this village for centuries. If I knew, I would say so. I believe that justice will be done. We live in the Republic of Turkey. Nothing will be hidden. The state will not leave the blood of my daughter’s murderer on the ground. The Turkish people demanded my daughter, may God be pleased with them.

“God damn those who did this, we were a small family,” he said.

“I cannot live through my daughter’s pain. When I came home early in the morning, I went to my daughter’s grave. Freaks come to my daughter’s grave and take pictures. I don’t want strangers to take pictures of my daughter and freaks to take advantage of my daughter. Please don’t do this. For the love of God, don’t do this. Currently, the state and the prosecutor are investigating,” Arif Guran added.

He also spoke about Nevzat Bakhtiyar, who buried Nari’s body in the stream bed and was one of the suspects in the crime.

“He is the person who sits next to me in the mosque every night, but even when you sit next to him, you cannot see the ugly faces of the people,” Arif Guran said.
