Llampuga season begins this Sunday August 25 until December 31, with a new regulations European. This year, Regulation (EU) 2024/259 entered into force, establishing for 2024 the fishing opportunities applicable to certain fish stocks and groups of fish populations in the Mediterranean and in the Black Sea. Thus, it establishes a maximum effort of 45 vessels for Spain and a total allowable catch of 127 tons. The ban has been lifted but the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Medicine reminds that professionals having a ban on fishing on weekends, the first day that boats will be able to set sail will be Monday, August 26. In this way begins one of the most anticipated campaigns of the sector as well as consumers due to the good commercial results it gives to the artisanal fishermen of the Islands.
