The Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is under the control of Hamas, reported that in recent weeks more than 500 people were killed from air strikes, shots and explosions of Israel. According to health officials, most of the victims died in anticipation of help distribution or around trucks with a food carrier.
Nevertheless, the requirement was denied by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On Tuesday (01/07), when loading on the X platform on social networks, Israel accused Hamas of growing up civilians themselves to disseminate erroneous information.
Israel claims that the testimony of the Gazanians show that Hamas “spreads false statements that accuse the Israeli defense forces (IDF), exaggerate the number of victims and spread fake records.”
About 130 humanitarian organizations and international NGOs, including OXFAM and rescue of children, called for stopping GHF. They accused the funds on the basis of the United States and Israel, which forced thousands of hunger inhabitants in the military zone, where they faced the risk of shots while trying to get help.
Responding to criticism, GHF director Johnny Moore, on Wednesday (02/07) at a press conference in Brussels, insisted that his party would not stop the distribution of assistance. He argued that the Fund distributed more than 55 million servings of food products today and has been opened for cooperation with the United Nations and other assistance institutions.
Moore also mentioned a statement from the Gaza Health Department. “The Ministry of Health of the Ministry of Health every day and almost always connects them with the residents who are waiting for help from us,” he said.
The defense forces of the Israeli defense forces (IDF) several times said that they released “warning shots” in relation to residents who were close to military position around the place of distribution of assistance. Nevertheless, IDF did not publish the official data related to the number of victims from the action.
On June 27, the left newspaper of Israel, Haarets, published a report that stated that the Israeli soldiers were given a green light to shoot a crowd of civilians near the Center for the Distribution of Food in order to keep them from the Israeli military position in the ban zone.
In the article, an unnamed soldier claimed that his troops fired at unarmed citizens who did not show a threat. Haarets also said that the Israeli military is investigating, whether international law violates these actions and can be classified as war crimes.
Responding to the report, the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu and the Minister of Defense Yoav Galland rejected the accusation and accused Haaret of spreading “dangerous lies aimed at the IDF Toting, the most moral military in the world,” the joint statement said.
IDF also denied the accusation that they deliberately fired civilians. In the statement translated by the Israeli media, IDF emphasized that no troops were ordered, “deliberately dismissed civilians, including those who turned to the centers of the distribution of assistance.”
However, three days after the application, the Israeli military announced the steps of adjustments. Based on the “chosen lesson”, the IDF said that he would change access to the center of the path and the distribution of assistance, create new inspection posts and install warning signals to “reduce friction with civilians and maintain the security of the troops in the field”.
On the other hand, GHF insisted that their distribution place was safe from violence. GHF director Johnny Moore emphasized that there was never any incident of violence in their location. “There is not a single incident in our distribution center. We have never experienced such incidents, ”he said.
However, responding to the report of the Haaurean, in which he accused the existence of green light to use the mortal power for civilians, the GAF said that the accusation was “too seriously to ignore” and calling for further investigation.
“We get enough to stay alive”
In the midst of the destruction of war to the Palestinians, who must desperately walk for hours through a dangerous area in order to get to the centers of the distribution of assistance. Many of these places are in the military zone determined by Israel. The distribution center opens only in a short time, and information about safe gathering points is often unclear.
“The road there is very dangerous. I try to stay in the main lane so that I can arrive, ”said Ahmed Abu Raida DW by phone from Mavasi, southern gas. Now he lives in a tent with his expanded family.
According to Ahmed, residents had to wait a long time to find out when the Center for Assistance or Medical Services was opened. “For several hours we waited, I heard the sound of shots from different directions,” he said.
