The next session of the trial against Natig Nusratzade, accused of articles 179.3.2 (mass embezzlement) and 308.2 (abuse of official powers) of the Criminal Code, was held in the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the presidency of the judge Rasim. Sadikhov.
According to information from “Unikal”, the victim in the criminal case was recognized as a victim of the “International Bank of Azerbaijan”. Afgan Hasanov, the defendant’s lawyer, gave a speech and stated that Natig Mazahir oglu Nusratzade paid part of the damage caused to the bank where he worked and that he intends to pay the rest of the damage as well. Considering his first conviction and his sincere remorse for his act, Natig requested that Nusratzade be given a lighter sentence. The accused, Natig Nusratzade, expressed sincere regret for his actions and asked for a lesser sentence.
After the speeches, the judge convened and the verdict was announced. According to the verdict, Natig Nusratzade, who is under police control, was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison and detained in the courtroom.
It should be noted that prosecutor Rauf Malyshov proposed sentencing the defendant to 8 years in prison.
It should be noted that Natig Nusratzade worked as the head of the transport department of the “International Bank of Azerbaijan”. During his work, he embezzled 48 thousand manats from the bank and of that damage he only returned 21 thousand manats.
