The initial report also did not explain how the switch could switch to the “cut -off” position on flight to London from the city of Ahmedabad, India, June 12.

Aviation Security Expert from the United States (USA) Anthony Brikhouse said that the key question was why the switches were moved in such a way that this did not meet normal procedures.

“The switch moves alone or moves with a pilot?” He said. “And if it is controlled by a pilot, why?”

Another flight safety expert in the USA, John Cox, said that the pilot cannot accidentally move the fuel switch that encourages fuel to the engine.

“The switch could not move just because it was pushed,” said Cox.

Moving the switch to the “cut” position almost immediately turned off the engine. Most often, this is done to turn off the engine after the plane arrives at the airport’s goal or in certain emergency situations, such as engine fires. The report does not indicate an emergency that requires stopping the engine fuel.

“At this stage of the investigation, there are no recommendations for actions for operators and manufacturers of Boeing 787-8 and/or GE GENX-1B engines,” the Indian Bureau for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents.

The bureau, which is located under the Ministry of Civil Aviation of India, conducted an investigation into the most deadly accidents in the world in the last decade.

Air India, Boeing and GE Aerospace have not yet given a response to a request for comments.
