The Bi-2 group rejected legal protection of its name in Russia. This was reported by the Mash telegram channel.
Previously, the brand belonged to Bi-2 LLC, its owners were Leva (Egor Bortnik*) and Shura (Alexander Uman).
“The participants re-registered the trademark in the name of one Maria Krutova from Ryazan after leaving their homeland.” – says the publication.
After members of the group were detained in Thailand, the woman wrote a statement to Rospatent.
“This kind of thing, where the owner voluntarily retires a trademark early, is rare. Typically, the copyright holder simply waits for the term to expire, since he or she paid for the validity of the trademark.” — explains the telegram channel.
The owner of the Bi-2 brand introduces herself with the surname Vyugina, she is supposedly the team’s PR person.
As reported EADailyShura previously said that once again in his life he moved to a new country. Now he lives in Riga.
Answering the question why he chose Riga to move to, the musician replied: “Well, you know, I can’t go to Moscow.”
The band will soon begin a European tour, and the musician’s home is in San Diego (USA). Flights from the US to Europe take about 18 hours.
