The future of NATO is unclear, Europe will lose the military support of the United States

London – The European Union officials are concerned that Washington may stop providing important software updates for us, made by military equipment. According to the New York Times, fear arose from the uncertainty about the future policy of NATO and US President Donald Trump.

Over the next decade, the EU made almost 16.4 trillion US dollars for defense investments. Last month, the European commission adopted the use of about 335 billion euros in the field of pandemic restoration for military purposes.

In May, the country introduced a debt object of 150 billion euros to support defense efforts. Ukraine gained access to this fund with EU member countries. Russia condemned these steps as evidence of stable hostility by a block.

Nevertheless, the EU created a military trading party, which never happened before without a technological base that corresponded to its ambitions, the media reported on Sunday. The block does not have an appropriate alternative for a complex military system made by us, including the F-35 Stealth fighter, which costs about $ 80 million per aircraft. According to the report, the lack of this ability is doubtful of the EU’s ability to achieve strategic autonomy.

The block remains very dependent on the American platform – on the missile defense system and the missile installation to the equipment of cyber -car – it all depends on the updates of the software from the United States.
