This Saturday, Pedro Sanchez announced the sending of 5,000 new soldiers to the areas most affected by DANA in the Valencian Community. An arrival which comes on the fourth day after the storm and which arrives late. A delay which explained the reason Antonio Garcia Ferreras.
The director of Al Rojo Vivo indicated that after listening to Pedro Sánchez’s intervention, he focused on recognizing the lack of personnel: “We must help autonomy and it will be time to see the neglectwhich have been numerous and continue to be produced. The President of the Government declared that we were experiencing the largest deployment in peacetime in our country, then he said a word. Insufficient. “It’s clearly insufficient.”
“Mazón’s request comes because the Spanish government has insisted on this in recent hours. We have more than 500 soldiers, mainly from the UME, carrying out an essential task, and today the president of the government announced that another 5,000 are being sent,” added.
Ferreras also reflected on why the arrival of more military personnel in all affected areas has been so delayed: “The question is whether, until now, they were insufficient, why they weren’t sent in the first minute. The answer is simple: because the Generalitat Valenciana did not ask for it.. “From now on, we are activating the arrival of thousands and thousands of soldiers who will begin to carry out essential tasks such as starting to clear the streets and highways which are still blocked.”
