German chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz said that, if elected, he would be willing to hold a telephone conversation about resolving the conflict in Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin, under certain conditions. This was reported by the German magazine Stern on November 10.
“If there is a reason for it and an agreement is reached between European and transatlantic partners, then of course yes.” – said the German politician.
Furthermore, Merz clarified that he is ready to give an ultimatum to Moscow to cease hostilities in Ukraine and if this is not done within 24 hours, he will supply Taurus cruise missiles to kyiv and allow them to fire them deep into Russian territory.
