A young player 16 years old of the CD La Unidad de Málaga children’s team died this Thursday after spending several years ill. This is Daniel Ríos, the goalkeeper of children’s category of La Unidad, where children between 12 and 14 years old play. His death sparked a wave of messages of encouragement to family and friends from all clubs in the province, including Málaga CF itself.
The young man had been playing since his debut in the world of sport at CD La Unidad, where he played as a goalkeeper since Benjamin up to the rank of cadet. But the athlete fell ill due to a head tumor and this prevented him from practicing his sporting activities normally. It is for this reason that the Malaga man left football last year, when he was a cadet. And the turmoil in the world of Malaga football is total.
“Only God knows why he took you from this world so soon, Dani. Not only were you a great goalie, but you were also a great friend and that is why those of us who knew you feel such immense pain today. We will miss you very much. Rest in peace, Daniel Ríos Lastre. From our club we make ourselves available to their parents and family in these difficult times,” said CD La Unidad in a message published on the social network X.

Many clubs from the province of Malaga showed their condolences for this tragic loss. One of these messages comes from the main team on earth, the Malaga CFwho presented his condolences through a publication on the social network X: “Málaga CF deeply regrets the death of little Dani, player of CD La Unidad. This is probably one of the most difficult moments in the history of the CD La Unidad, created in 1987 and which has around twenty youth clubs in the men’s and women’s categories, a leading entity in grassroots football in Malaga.
But unfortunately, this is not the only tragic death that has occurred in the province of Malaga linked to minors and the world of sport, since a little over a week ago, a teenager from 14 year old died in Ronda (Málaga) playing basketball in a sports center.
The minor had been suffering since May heart problems but medical examinations concluded that the young man could now play sports normally. But after playing again at the sports center, the past November 20 He started to feel bad. Then 112 activated members of the local police and 061, after which he was sent to the Serranía de Ronda Hospital, where he finally died.
