At 11:35, with the “Judicial Police” vests on their backs, seven investigators from the criminal brigade, accompanied by two dogs specialized in searching for weapons and narcotics, cross the white gate and take the gravel road that runs through the small garden Among them, supervised by two brigade members, handcuffed and guarded like a high-level criminal, a weak child measuring 1.70 meters is preparing to return to his mother. The young man’s forehead is devoured by acne and his cheeks are hidden by a poorly trimmed goatee, his long black hair falls to the small of his back. Hidden under his jacket, he looks like a high school student who loves hard rock like so many others. However, Matéo, 18, is suspected of having murdered two teenagers three days earlier in front of a bar in the Joliette neighborhood, near the Old Port of Marseille.
Investigators searched the 140-square-meter pavilion for hours. They found nothing on the ground floor, they went up to the first floor and inspected a children’s room, occupied by the little ones, then they searched the library and the laundry room.
