The Council of Ministers approved almost 1.2 billion euros for mobility in Catalonia while for the Andalusian coast, she proposed a meeting on board the coastal train. The president of the PP of Malaga, Patricia Navarro, described “absolutely shameful and scandalous” that the government of Pedro Sánchez continues to “pour billions” into Catalonia while “ignoring and delaying the response to the great mobility needs” of Malaga.
Thus, he criticized the fact that the Council of Ministers approved this Tuesday more than 1.1 billion euros for investments in infrastructure in Catalonia, such as 710 million to improve Catalan roads, or the urgent treatment of a grant of 486 million between 2024 and 2026 for investments in the Rodalies (Cercanías de Catalunya) “and in the province of Malaga, day after day, the inhabitants of Malaga experience breakdowns, delays or traffic jams without the government doing absolutely anything.
“It is not acceptable that Malaga, which grows by more than 20,000 new inhabitants each year, whose economic fabric continues to grow, in the number of Social Security registrations, which indicates an economic dynamism which influences density traffic; requires investments and projects to improve mobility in the short, medium and long term and the answer is work tables instead of investments“, he explained.
Navarro wondered what explanation the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, and the PSOE of Malaga could give “to the thousands of Malagasy people” who, as he assured, suffer from traffic jams every morning when they are found in territories like Catalonia.they are rewarded“with these investments” in exchange for the support that nationalist parties must provide to Sánchez to stay in power.
Grievance
“Malaga does not deserve this treatment and the people of Malaga deserve above all an explanation for this growing grievance which separates us more and more from other regions of Spain with which we could compete on equal opportunities and we do not do so because This equality is the burden of Pedro Sánchez with examples like these investments which will be dedicated to Catalonia and not to Malaga or Andalusia”, lamented the president of the PP of Malaga.
In this sense, he criticized the fact that Sánchez “has not lifted a finger in these six years to improve the infrastructure of the province of Malaga despite the highest population growth in Spain”, and insisted on the fact that the PSOE of Malaga “must say if it plans to do or say something to defend the interests of the inhabitants of Malaga“.
“We will continue to raise our voices because it is not acceptable that the inhabitants of Malaga suffer the collapse of the roads and the breakdowns of the Cercanías trains while in other territories billions are invested to please, Sánchez’s pro-independence partners“, he stressed.
For his part, the president of the Provincial Delegation of Málaga, Francisco Salado, spoke through a message on the social network “facts” and not just “words”“by the Ministry of Transport. “I hope that in the first technical meeting convened by the Government to address mobility problems in Malaga with the rest of the institutions, the Ministry of Transport will come with actions and not just words, with commitments like these for immediate investments and works,” said.
