The Government describes as an “implausible excuse” the reason why the PP interrupted negotiations on the relocation of unaccompanied minors

The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, Felix Bolanosdemanded that the PP stop finding “implausible” excuses to refuse to reach an agreement with the government on immigration issues, that it assumes its responsibility and shows humanity.

Bolaños spoke out in response to the announcement made this Saturday by the PP that it suspends negotiations with the government on the migration crisis which particularly affects the Canary Islands, because the Executive refuses to accept help from the European Union for this, and will only take them back when this community support is accepted.

The head of the Presidency stressed that the Government is working to resolve the problem, agreements have been reached and consensuses have been attempted, and he regretted that the PP “gives up” now with what he considers “an excuse” not to enter into an alliance.

“An absolutely improbable excuse”he underlined before guaranteeing that the government works hand in hand with the European Commission and recalling that the EU has succeeded in implementing a migration and asylum pact signed by governments of various political tendencies .

For Bolaños, solidarity must be evident between states but also within each of the community partners. In this sense, he assured that The government is working to have a model of solidarity in which migratory flows manage to welcome arriving people with dignity and these flows can be regulated in a united manner.

It is for this reason that he asked the PP to stop making these excuses and take responsibility for solving the problem and humanity. “Let them know that We must treat people who have nothing with dignity.many of whom are children who don’t even have their parents nearby,” he concluded.
