The Government has revised its growth forecasts for 2024 upwards by three tenths, to 2.7%

Tomorrow, the Council of Ministers will approve an upward revision of the macroeconomic forecasts for the next three years. The Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, Carlos Body, announced that the growth forecasts for 2024, will stand at 2.7%, three tenths above those initially calculatedThe update comes following the upward revision that the INE published last week for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The new update of the figures comes on the eve of the approval of the stability path that would open the door to the presentation of the Budgets. The revision gives greater room for maneuver to achieve the deficit targets and will mean greater support for the spending roadmap that the executive plans to send to Brussels on October 15. A good part of the figures presented by Moncloa are based on a growth potential, now greater.

Body, in statements to Telecincoinsisted that in recent months there has been “a continuous upward adjustment” of forecasts for the Spanish economy “by absolutely all national and international analysts”. “We are going to follow what the experts are doing and we are actually going to update our forecasts for the next three years upwards and we will do it tomorrow,” said the head of the Economy.

This Thursday it will be the turn of the path to stability. Congress is preparing to vote on the fiscal path on which the Government wants to deploy the budget project. However, a good part of Sánchez’s ministers have begun to open the way to a possible extension of the 2023 Accounts, given the Executive’s inability to gather the necessary support for those proposed for 2025.
