The battery of measures to deal with the consequences of DANA that the PP presented this Sunday fell on deaf ears. Despite the meeting between the government and those of Núñez Feijóo, The executive of Pedro Sánchez chose to move forward with its own roadmap, ignoring the proposals of the popular party. The only common point between the new royal decree and the PP document concerns housing.
Juan BravoDeputy Secretary of Economy of the PP, presented on Sunday a document containing up to 13 measures that, according to the most popular, must be implemented in the territories affected by DANA. Among them, he proposed “immediate action” to move temporarily or permanently to the persons concerned, as well as a recording thereof.
In this sense, the new royal decree approved this Tuesday by the Government includes the authorization of 150 state housing units located in the areas concerned or in surrounding areas to make them available to the people concerned “free of charge and immediately”. In addition, 15 million euros will also be allocated to the purchase of housing for the same purpose.
But other than that, no coincidence is found. It should be noted, however, that the PP presented its proposals to the Government during a meeting which took place last Sunday at 4:00 p.m. The meeting of the Council of Ministers took place at 9:00 a.m. this Monday, so not even a full day had passed between one event and another.
As already mentioned Yolanda Diazsecond vice-president and minister of labor, this Monday’s royal decree included several so-called measures work shieldlike the expansion of ERTE to any company whose activity has been affected by DANA, regardless of its residence. It also establishes 100% paid leave to workers who, because of DANA, cannot go to their workplace or telework.
However, the PP’s proposal to increase the salary received by those affected who are ill due to extraordinary temporary incapacity by up to 100% is not included, so that The 75% set by last week’s royal decree is maintained.
Of course, the expansion of the MOVES plan is left aside, the “rental “social” subscription, or free transport. Likewise, the extension of tax relief measures to the next academic year is not part of the Government’s new measures.
