“The government must fire Pilar Alegría if it wants to have credibility in its campaign against hoaxes”

The executive president and director of EL ESPAÑOL, Pedro J. Ramirezparticipated this Wednesday in the Telecinco program gathering The critical lookwhere he analyzed political news and demanded the dismissal of the government spokesperson, Pilar Alegriafor having told “lies” during the press conference this Tuesday after the Council of Ministers in Moncloa.

Alegría assured the media that the Provincial Court of Madrid “indicates that there is a prospective investigation” against Begoña Gómez, wife of Pedro Sánchez, and that the legislative reform which aims to reduce the prison sentences of 44 members of the ETA has the same text as the 2014 reform promoted by the government of Mariano Rajoy. Both of the minister’s assertions turned out to be false.

It is for this reason that Pedro J. Ramírez requested his “dismissal”. “Or the Government dismisses Pilar Alegria after the anthology of lies and hoaxes that he broadcast yesterday from Moncloa, or he must withdraw his entire campaign against disinformation. If the Government intends to continue with a minimum of credibility in the face of the means to eradicate hoaxes, it will have to fire her,” said the director of EL ESPAÑOL.

Pedro J. Ramírez spoke out about the controversy Legislative reform that could reduce prison sentences for 44 ETA members and accused the government of “deceiving Spanish society”. “We are facing something that revolts you. We have tried to do it with nightmarishness and treachery. In short, we are going to come to the conclusion that for Sánchez to continue three more years in Moncloa, some criminals of the worst kind will pass six years less in prison,” he denounced.

This is the reform of Organic Law 7/2014a modification born as a simple transposition of a European directive of a technical nature which, moreover, was approached with a delay of two years. But in the presentation phase of its treatment, a series of amendments were added that led the law to reduce the sanctions to more than 40 ETAs.

“We are talking about members of ETA convicted in France for criminal conspiracy and who then committed assassinations in Spain,” said Pedro J. Ramírez.

“This deception could only be resolved if the president appear in a specific plenary session or in front of the media and we apologize for not having explained to Spain the issues of this amendment. And then his arguments to get Txapote out of prison,” he said.

Negligence of the PP

The PP even gave its approval to the law that provides for this controversial issue, although by “error”, as admitted by the popularwho have apologized several times since their neglect for not having correctly revised the reform of the standard.

Pedro J. Ramírez considers that the “PP should ask the three deputies” responsible for revising the amendments and giving party approval for the minutes. “They should not appear on the electoral lists again and they should carry out an internal audit of the functioning of their parliamentary group,” the director of this newspaper asked the main opposition party.

“Tellado has a lot of confidence to attack the government, but I don’t know if he has the same consistency.” during group coordination parliamentary”, criticized Pedro J. Ramírez. The three deputies responsible for the error made their positions available to the party by offering their resignations, but the PP rejected them.

Begoña Gómez case

Regarding the decision of the Provincial Court of Madrid to order the continuation of the investigation against the wife of the President of the Government, Begoña Gómez, for allegations of corruption in the private sector and influence peddling, Pedro J. Ramírez regretted that Pilar Alegría lied when she said the court said Judge Peinado was conducting a “prospective investigation.”

“The government is at a crossroads. Sánchez did everything wrong in the case of his wife. Instead of reflecting on what had been reckless, he pretended to be offended with already five days of reflection. From there, he began his crusade against the media”, explained the director of EL ESPAÑOL.

Furthermore, he emphasized that since then “all the ministers have attacked Judge Peinado.”

In any case, Pedro J. Ramírez believes that “it will be very difficult to find grounds to convict Begoña Gómez for influence peddling.”
