The Government transfers 30 million euros to the Consell de Mallorca to carry out 17 actions on the roads

The President of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohenssigned the transfer protocol to the Consell Insular de Mallorca 30 million euros to finance road investments that will be executed and paid during the year 2025. The document, also signed by the president of the Consell, Llorenç Galmésincludes a list of road projects that the Consell will finance with these resources and that it will have to justify to the Government of the Balearic Islands.

Therefore, the Government of the Balearic Islands will transfer the funds to the island councils to execute essential projects to improve the road networka measure that is part of the Balearic agenda, as road agreements continue to be demanded from the State.

During the signing of the protocol, which took place at the Consolat de Mar, were also present the Vice President and the Minister of Economy, Finance and Innovation, on behalf of the Government, Anthony Costaand the Minister of Housing, Territory and Mobility, Jose Luis Mateo. The Island Council of Mallorca will promote a total of 17 modernization worksthe majority without consumption of territory, . In this way, the surface of roads which, in some cases, have not been renewed for 20 to 30 years, will be reinforced.several roundabouts and motorway accesses will be built and up to six municipal roads will be built to connect Mallorca’s cities through sustainable mobility.

Work financed with the 30 million

Among the works financed with the 30 million euros, Galmés highlighted the rreinforcement of the road surface between Bunyola, Orient and Alaró (6 million euros); the construction of access to the future Felanitx hospital (2.5 million euros), as well as several municipal roads, including Portol to Santa Maria (2.5 million euros), Peguera in Camp de Mar (1.2 million euros) or connection with the Son Llàtzer hospital (2.5 million euros) and Inca (600,000 euros).

Other actions that will be carried out are the installation of cameras on the roads of Mallorca (1.2 million), the strengthening of the sidewalk of the Ma-1 V3 – Port d’Andratx (800,000 euros), improving access to Lluc (900,000 euros), the municipal road between Ariany and the road to Son Guineu (1.2 million euros), the ITV roundabout on the road Ma-11 Sóller with Els Reis (1 million euros) and the modernization and reform of the Sóller tunnel facilities (250,000 euros).

Likewise, it is planned to stabilize the slope of the municipal parking lot Fornalutx (50,000 euros), reinforce the surface of the Ma-10 Andratx – Estellencs and crossing Banyalbufar (4 million euros), the Campos exit roundabout towards Santanyí (1 million), improving access to Crestatx Ma-2200 and the civic road (2.5 million) and the Son Verí roundabout (1.8 million).
