The government has taken the decision to present the general state budgets for 2025without a date yet determined, in a maneuver that they describe as “risky”, as LaSexta was able to confirm through government sources.
“We’re going to take a risk” ” was the textual phrase of the Government to confirm the presentation of the Budgets, since it does not have a parliamentary majority to approve it. Among other aspects, next Tuesday, the path of stability will be approved again by the Council of Ministers, in the same text that had already been rejected in Congress in July.
Due to the possibility that they may not be approved, the same sources indicate that They are not “obliged to call elections” and that it would continue to operate with the budget extension if the opposition did not end up approving these budgets.
Although there is no fixed date for its presentation, the government emphasizes that it will be done as soon as possible. This implies how deadline October 1st of this yearin which the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, must present the public accounts as provided for in the Constitution.
From this day on, the budgets will go through the parliamentary process which, if approved, will come into effect on January 1 of the new year.
