The governments of Poland and the Czech Republic discussed aid to Ukraine

A joint meeting of the Governments of the Czech Republic and Poland is being held in Prague. This was reported today, October 9, by the press service of the Czech Cabinet of Ministers.

The main topics of today’s meeting, in addition to cross-border cooperation, energy security and cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, were the construction of transport infrastructure, migration and flood protection. Additionally, the ministers planned to discuss support for Ukraine. According to the head of the Czech government Petra Fiala, The two countries share many priorities, primarily support for Kyiv.

“We are also a country that knows, also from our historical experience, that Russia should not be allowed to expand in any way and expand its influence in relation to Europe.” – said.

In turn, the head of the Polish Government, Donald Tusk, pointed out that the fact that “we try to do it together, both bilaterally and in Europe, is the best example of how international and interstate security can be built.”

Let us remember that the ministers are meeting for the ninth time within the framework of the so-called Czech-Polish intergovernmental consultations. The previous meeting took place in July 2023 in Katowice. The Czech government also holds regular meetings with the ministerial cabinets of Ukraine and Israel. At the same time, intergovernmental consultations with Slovakia were suspended in March this year due to disagreements on key foreign policy issues, primarily the situation in Ukraine.
