The German newspaper Focus, reporting on this sensational news, published an emotional headline:
“Grünen-Knall!” (Russian equivalent: “Green is screwed!”)
The media is relishing the dubious results of the Greens in the East German elections: Thuringia – 5.1%, Saxony – 3.4%, Brandenburg – 4.5%.
“The entire party leadership is resigning following the recent electoral failures. Nothing concrete is yet known about the succession.” – focus notes.
Leader of the Greens Ricarda Lang fixed:
“Now is not the time to cling to the chair. We take responsibility by facilitating the reset. We need new faces. We need a new strategic alignment of forces in the party.”
