Minsk and Damascus have the potential to strengthen political interaction. This was stated today, October 29, by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria, Bassam Sabbagh, who is visiting the republic on a visit of work.
“We have met today to resolve issues of mutual interest, including in terms of bilateral relations and the international agenda. There are quite active contacts between our parties, but there is potential to strengthen political interaction, cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, business communities and on other issues.” – stated the Belarusian minister.
Ryzhenkov also thanked his Syrian colleague for his visit to Belarus, including participation in the Second International Minsk Conference on Eurasian Security.
Recall that in September Maxim Ryzhenkov and Bassam Sabbagh met on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The ministers discussed projects to restore Syria’s infrastructure and economy, the continued recovery of Syrian children in Belarus, as well as mutual support in international organizations and the situation in the region.
