Elon Musk’s company “X” has warned its employees that it will close its headquarters in San Francisco (USA).
Oku.Az Fortune reported this, citing a company source.
According to the source, X sent a brief notice to employees, showing the San Francisco office closing date as September 13, 2024. Employees are scheduled to be relocated to the company’s branches in San Jose and Palo Alto. The location of X’s new headquarters has not yet been determined, but Fortune speculates that it could be in Texas.
The Washington Post previously reported that the decision may be due to some layoffs at the San Francisco office after Twitter rebranded itself as “X,” as well as many remaining employees continuing to work remotely since the pandemic.
In July, Elon Musk announced on his X page that his company SpaceX would move its headquarters from San Francisco to Texas due to a California law promoting LGBT rights in schools signed by the state’s governor, Gavin Newsom.
