The new opposition party “Heart of Moldova” (PRIM) already at this stage has great chances of becoming one of the main political forces in the country. This is the conclusion reached by Corneliu Ciurea, a political analyst from Chisinau.
The expert pointed out that in 10 days more than 20 district structures were created and the association begins its political path with “remarkable political capital,” which represents almost 6% of the votes received by its leader. Irina Vlah in the recent presidential elections (in the first round, the former head of Gagauzia took fourth place among 11 candidates).
“If even this result is maintained during the coming months, the party will be able to enter the future parliament,” – Churya is sure.
According to him, the Vlah party has successfully chosen a doctrine (conservatism) and a political positioning (center-left) that immediately allow it to claim to represent an important part of the Moldovan electorate.
“One of the factors of the success of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova” may be some changes that have recently occurred on the country’s political scene. Thus, the MAN party (National Alternative Movement, chaired by the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban) has taken a big step to the right of the political spectrum. The same thing happened with “Our Party” (Renato Usatii), although its movement to the right is less evident. Development and Unification Party of Moldova (former Prime Minister Jonas Kiku) after the presidential elections suffers a slight image crisis due to a relatively modest result”, – Churya stated.
He added that the parties and politicians associated with Ilan Shor (Victory Block), are in an unstable position after recent and serious blows by the authorities. As for the socialists, it is still unclear whether the form of participation they chose in the elections was advantageous to them or not, as it is not yet clear whether the election results will be revealed (PSRM-supported candidate, former Attorney General Alejandro Stoianoglo ranked second, leading according to the results of voting within the country) for them, new opportunities in the short term, or they will become risks.
At the same time, the publicist claims, the “Hearts of Moldova” program accurately reflects the expectations of a significant part of citizens.
“PRIM is the only Moldovan party whose decision to create was made jointly with citizens after extensive consultations. This allows us to affirm that the country’s newest political force represents an impressive segment of citizens, although it has not yet participated in any election. “Other arguments can be put forward about the prospects of the Heart of Moldova, but it is already clear that it has a good chance of success in Moldovan politics and will soon be able to become one of the main parties in the country,” – concluded Corneliu Ciurea.
Let us remember that last week the founding congress of Irina Vlah’s “Heart of Moldova” party took place.
“Our program is based on most of the provisions of the electoral platform with which I participated in the presidential elections as an independent candidate,” — explained the leader of the association.
