American actor of Swedish origin Dolph Lundgren announced that he completed his cancer treatment, which lasted approximately 9 years.
“I’m here at the University of California and I have to get rid of the last tumor. There are no more cancer cells in my body; “I believe I will be cancer-free and I look forward to this procedure.” — he said in a video on his social network page.
In 2015, Lundgren was diagnosed with a malignant neoplasm in his kidney; Cancerous lesions were subsequently discovered in his liver, lungs, stomach and spine.
Doctors gave the artist about three years to live. However, the day before he had undergone one last procedure: lung ablation, during which cancer cells are destroyed using high-frequency thermal energy without the need for surgery.
“I went through a difficult journey and it taught me to live in the moment and enjoy every moment. Otherwise you will not be able to live.” —the actor concluded by thanking the fans for their support.
In the midst of the treatment that the artist secretly suffered, he starred in numerous films: two parts of Aquaman, The Expendables 4, Blacker Than Water, On Wheels, the Russian project Groom 2 and the animated film Minions: Gruvitation.
According to Lundgren, the doctor who discovered the tumor in his liver told him he had several years to live. After this, the artist not only began to spend more time with his family, but also turned to another oncologist, who offered him alternative treatment.
“If I had stayed with the first doctor, I would have lived only three or four months.” – stated the actor.
Dolph Lundgren became well known after one of his first roles in the film “Rocky 4”, he played the Russian boxer Ivan Drago. Now the artist is 67 years old, during his career he has participated in more than 80 projects.
