THE Holy See authorized and granted a relic second degree of saint John Paul IIrequested by the Royal Association of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception of Torrevieja, to be revered at the Camarín Museum in La Purísima.
The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints evaluated the content of said request which included, among other aspects, the obligatory nihil obstat granted by the Bishop of Orihuela-Alicante, Jose IgnacioMunillain which he declares that he is “aware of the dignity of the Museum of La Purísima” to house this relic of the charismatic Pope Wojtyla.
With him, the entity responsible for promoting the cult of Boss of Torrevieja, aspires to promote devotion to the figure of Pope John Paul II who manifested his sincere Marian faith throughout his life, in multiple invocations throughout the world. He thus left a prolific magisterium around the figure of the Virgin, with particular reference, in this case, to the prayers he dedicated throughout his pontificate to the Immaculate Conception, coinciding mainly with the homage that is paid to her every year on December 8 in the Plaza de España in Rome.
The relic, accompanied by the corresponding certificate of authenticity, was sent by the Liturgy Office of the Vicariate of Romethrough the Apostolic Nunciature in Spain, until Bishopric of Orihuela-Alicantewhere it was collected by the Association for Transport in Torrevieja.
The parish priest, Jose Antonio Geaas president of the Royal Association of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception, Antonio Aniorteshowed their immense joy at having made this relic and what it means for the parish of the city’s patron saint. For this reason, a Celebration is being prepared to solemnly welcome it and will take place soon.
