The location, which began to be built more than two and a half years ago, will be focused on the production of various electric and hybrid vehicles, which will encourage Hyundai to enter the electric vehicle market.
The inauguration of the factory participated in Hyundai leaders, as well as the governor Brian P. Kemp, the American Buddy Carter representative, and the president and executive director of Kia Corporation, Ho Sung Song.
As Carscoops reported, the Metaplant factory has started the production of Hyundai Ioniq 5 with electricity and, which is probably the most important, now building Hyundai Ioniq 9.
Hyundai Ioniq 9 is its first electric SUV with three electric lines and works as an alternative KIA EV9. Introduced in November last year, Ioniq 9 was supported by the E-GMP architecture of the group and was equipped with an 110.3 kWh battery as standard. The brand has not announced the US price for SUV, but we know that the SUV will be offered in several different forms.
The base model has a 214 hp powered electric motor and a 258 lb -ft (350 Nm) torque that moves the rear wheels, and the mentioned mileage is 385 miles (620 km).
Above this version there is a long lasting AWD, which adds a 94 hp motorcycle on the face. Ioniq 9 Flagship performance has a 214 hp and back motorcycle, which allows it to reach 62 MPH (100 km/h) speeds in 5.2 seconds.
Initially, Hyundai Motor Group planned to produce 200,000 electric and hybrid vehicles. However, as part of the increase of its commitment to the American market, its annual production capacity has been increased to 500,000 units.
“Hyundai Motor Group Metaplat America is not just the ability to make sophisticated and group commitment to innovation, but also to our investment in relations with our partners and communities in Georgia,” said the executive president of Euisun Motor Group.
“With a history rich in expertise and production in this community, together with talented workers at HMGMA, we build the future of mobility with America, in America.”
