The IV Feria de la Montería de Obejo opens its doors until Monday

Obejo This Friday opened the doors of the fourth edition of Montería Faira meeting that will last until next Monday and will take place at the Municipal Sports Center of Cerro Muriano with the participation of 25 companies and a wide program of activities.

At the opening ceremony, the president of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, Salvador Fuentesaccompanied by the head of sustainable development, Andrés Lorite; by the delegate for Economic Development, Félix Romero, and by the mayor, Pedro López, indicated that “this meeting is the ideal framework to position the hunting sector, so important for the economic and social development of many of our villages.”

“The world of hunting represents 50,000 jobs in the Andalusian community and 900 million euros, an importance that is also transmitted to Córdoba where this sector represents an annual income of 20 million euros,” added Fuentes. The head of the provincial institution insisted that “the province has 1,450 large and small game reserves and, in the municipality of Obejo alone, there are 30 areas dedicated to this activity.

According to sources, Cordoba has 46,000 licenses, a fact that shows the importance of a sector that has a very marked distribution in the province, which leads us to talk about Posadas, Villaviciosa, Obejo, Cardena, Hornachuelos and Villanueva del Rey, towns where not only hunting is important, but also tourism and gastronomy linked to this sport.

“If there is employment, there is wealth and there is compatibility with the biodiversity of our territory, we must take a step forward in the defense of a sector on which many Cordovan families depend, and this fair, like Intercaza, is a tool to bring the sector closer to citizens,” concluded Fuentes.

Activities program

The fourth edition of the Obejo Montería Fair has a total of 25 stands related to the world of hunting, as well as agri-food products related to the hunting sector. Likewise, a wide program of activities is planned, among which the celebration of discussions related to the world of huntingby stakeholders linked to entities, companies or groups in the sector.

In addition, there are exhibits and samples of hunting art, a sample of vehicles, tools and hunting equipment. Seprona and an exhibition of rehalas. All this will be complemented by workshops for children, linked to environmental topics such as recycling, recognition of the footprint and indigenous nature.

In addition to these activities, there are also dog training and care exhibitions, falconry exhibitions, gastronomic tastings, musical performances and archery and leatherwork workshops.
