Japan’s opposition parties are preparing a collective resolution expressing distrust in the government. The reason for this was the decision of new Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to dissolve the important lower house of parliament and hold early elections. According to the publication, this decision was made at a meeting of the leaders of four key opposition parties: the Constitutional Democratic Party, the Communist Party of Japan, the Renaissance Society Party of Japan and the People’s Democratic Party (LDP). . The total number of deputies from these parties in the lower house of parliament is not enough to pass the resolution, but Ishiba’s decision to dissolve parliament also caused discontent in the ranks of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, making it likely that the resolution is maintained.
The lower house of Japan’s parliament will reportedly be dissolved on Wednesday. The opposition hopes to present a no-confidence resolution to Cabinet for consideration before this happens.

Ishiba announced the dissolution of parliament before officially taking over as prime minister on October 1, which opposition parties consider a likely violation of the constitution. Within the ruling PLD itself, discontent arises from its decision to deny electoral support to deputies who had previously been convicted of fraud with financial statements.
