The Baku Jazz Festival opened at “Jolly Joker” on October 17.
Oku.AzAccording to information from Munir Hoss, a concert was held on the first day of the festival. The Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and composer, skillfully combining jazz, funk and Brazilian rhythms, delighted music lovers in the capital of Azerbaijan with his magnificent performance.
It should be noted that the jazz festival will last until October 27. Concerts of famous musicians are held on the stage of the Mugham International Center, the National Conservatory of Azerbaijan, the “Jolly Joker” concert hall, the “Fairmont Baku” hotel club and the ADA University. In addition to concerts and jam sessions, the festival program includes master classes and meetings with jazz stars, exhibitions “Jazz on Silk”, animated sketches “Jazz & Art”, photo exhibition “Best World Jazz Photo” and presentation of Bahram’s book Bagyrzade “. Jazz for Children”.
This year traditional jazz, ethno-jazz, bossa nova and jazz-rock are presented at the festival. World stars come to participate in the festival. Diana Kroll, El Di Meola, Charles Lloyd, Keiko Matsui, Shakatak, Jazzanova and Fourplay have participated in different years. The main feature of this festival is the trio “Interplay” and American singer Sheryl Reilly.
