Likewise, in a resolution dated this Monday, the magistrate requests “the numbering” of all the bank accounts of which Gómez appears as owner.
In the same document, to which EL ESPAÑOL had access, Peinado also quotes the former Madrid advisor Juan Jose Guemes declare as investigated on December 18.
Güemes appeared in court this Monday to testify in the so-called Begoña affair. But he entered the headquarters of the Plaza de Castilla in Madrid as a witness and returned to the streets to investigate.
The former PP politician, currently a senior party official Business Institute (IE), was reported on October 16 by another witness in the case —Sonsoles Blanca Gil de Antuñanohuman resources manager of this entity— as the person who promoted the signing of Begoña Gómez to IE in 2018. This is the reason why the former advisor was summoned to testify.
However, the judge, upset by certain evasions of the witness and certain contradictions with what was told with Gil de Antuñano, chose to give him the status of indictment.
In fact, Peinado even verbalized the possibility of organizing a confrontation between the two witnesses. But ultimately, he decided to indict the former politician, who is scheduled to testify on December 18.
The magistrate also criticized him for the fact that IE had not yet provided him with information on the bank accounts in which Begoña Gómez received the 55,000 euros per year in payroll that she collected from the Institute of Commerce . And this, despite the fact that she requested this information from IE’s human resources manager, after taking her statement.
In fact, in the aforementioned resolution of this Monday, Peinado chose to deduce the testimony from the statement of Gil de Antuñano, in order to investigate, if necessary, a possible crime of disobedience committed by this, “by not responding to the request made by this Court during its appearance on 10/16/24”.
Marriage certificate
Concretely, Judge Peinado requested from the Single Civil Registry of Madrid “the literal marriage certificate, with its marginal annotations”, of Begoña Gómez.
What are marginal annotations? These are additional notes or inscriptions that are added to a birth, marriage or death record to indicate changes, updates or relevant facts relating to the original content of the document and which may modify the conditions previous ones included in the document.
For example, they may refer to changes in the economic regime of marriage or find out that the couple has divorced.
On the other hand, a literal marriage certificate is an exact copy of the marriage registration, which contains all the data related to its celebration, the identity of the couple.
Judge Peinado attributes a total of four alleged crimes to Begoña Gómez: influence peddling, embezzlement, corporate corruption and professional intrusion.
Even if the initial complaint which gave rise to Begoña affair did not allude to these extremes, the facts currently investigated by the judge already involve the professional career of Begoña Gómez since her time at IE or her relationship with the Complutense University of Madrid, where she co-directed two chairs with its own master which were recently deleted.
