Ismael Moreno, the judge in charge of the investigation Koldo affairsummoned José Antonio Rodríguez González, former commissioner and now senior official of the Ministry of the Interior, to testify, very close to the current Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
Another witness in this case, Daniel Belmar, pointed out Lenin —this is Rodríguez’s nickname—as the person who put him in contact with an official at the company Soluciones de Gestión SL, considered the epicenter of the corruption plot investigated in the Koldo affair.
Belmar, who was also a commissioner, was a senior Interior official during the Covid pandemic. He held the General Sub-Directorate for Planning and Management of Infrastructure and Security Means of the said ministry. Currently, José Antonio Rodríguez remains at the top. He is Director General of Coordination and Studies of the Ministry.
