Only one work, “Desde la Ribera”, suffered “slight damage” which municipal technicians are already assessing.
The area concerned is where the exhibition “Romero de Torres, painter of modernity” is located.
He Julio Romero de Torres Museum closed its doors this Sunday after detachment from a corner of false ceiling from one of the upper rooms, as reported by the Cordoba town hall in a note.
Municipal technicians have already started work to resolve “the situation as quickly as possible and proceed with the opening of the art gallery”. The causes of the landslide are unknown and are currently being analyzed by the Infrastructure delegationwho works with the Cultural Service of the Town Hall.
The room where the incident was recorded currently houses the exhibition “Romero de Torres, painter of modernity”. Dialogue with the Telefónica’ Collection, which can be visited again in the coming days, once the false ceiling has been repaired.
Municipal officials emphasize that “none of the works donated for the exhibition suffered damage due to this incident. only suffered slight damage due to falling plaster work ‘De la Ribera’, piece that will immediately be reviewed by municipal technicians so that it once again becomes part of the exhibition that commemorates the 150th anniversary of Romero de Torres.
He Cordoba Town Hall reiterated that “the repair of the roof will be undertaken immediately and the art gallery will be reopened to the public with all safety measures”.
