Businessman Víctor de Aldama has no problems with the law. He has two. The first concerns the hydrocarbon conspiracy, a massive tax fraud that Judge Santiago Pedraz is investigating before Central Court Number 5 of the National Court. The modus operandi was relatively simple: the system used fictitious companies that sold gasoline and diesel to service stations at a lower price. Then these companies disappeared and left taxes unpaid. In total, the prosecution estimates having defrauded 182 million euros with this system.
The second problem of Víctor de Aldama’s Justice also arises in the National Court, but in another court: the Central Court number 2. This is a much more publicized case of corruption, even if the figures are not so huge. There, Judge Ismael Moreno investigates Koldo’s plot: bribes in mask contracts and other shenanigans that involve former minister José Luis Abalos and Koldo García, his main adviser.
