King Felipe VI of Spain has called for understanding of the anger and desperation of people in flood-affected areas of the Autonomous Community of Valencia after attempts were made to throw mud at him during a visit to Valencia.
During a visit to the joint coordination center of the Valencian Community, the monarch expressed his gratitude to all those involved in the rescue efforts. According to him, the authorities must give hope to the victims in resolving the flood situation and ensure that the State will participate in solving the problem “in its entirety.”
“You have to understand the anger and frustration that many people feel because of how bad they have had it (as a result of the floods).” – stated the king in a video published on the social network of the X Royal House of Spain.

Some prominent figures and politicians in Spain have expressed discontent with the central and regional government’s management of the floods, accusing them of failing to prevent a disaster of this magnitude and deal with its consequences.
