This Tuesday, King Felipe VI will make his second visit to the Valencian Community after the disaster caused by DANA on October 29, but on this occasion he will visit the military units deployed to help those affected and the centers from where this assistance is coordinate. Likewise, the King is preparing a new trip to the communities affected by the floods to show his support for the victims.

During his visit on Tuesday, the monarch will begin by visiting the Jaime I military base, in Bétera, where he will have the opportunity to meet the troops of the army, air and contingents of the UME (Military Unit emergency) who participate in emergency responses.

The king will then travel to the port of Valencia, where he will visit the amphibious assault ship Galicia, docked since November 4. For the occasion, its 300 soldiers were joined by more than 100 marines, nine all-terrain vehicles, two SH60F transport helicopters capable of flying at night, two landing craft, naval beach equipment, a doctor, two nurses and a paramedic.

Felipe VI will end his trip to Valencia by visiting the Army’s main logistics base at the Valencia Fair, where more than 2,500 soldiers are working on support and recovery tasks in the affected municipalities.

Currently, 8,474 members of the Armed Forces are deployed in the storm-affected areas, including 2,103 belonging to the Military Emergency Unit (UME). All these soldiers are equipped, among other things, with 14 helicopters, 105 engineering vehicles, 1,790 intervention and transport vehicles, 32 drones, 38 ambulances, two mine hunters, 18 boats and 19 search dogs.

This visit, as announced by the royal family, will only have official means. But, as it appears from the monarchs’ agenda, “the House of His Majesty the King and the Ministry of Defense will disseminate images and photographs.”

Next visit to the sites concerned

Felipe VI and Letizia plan to return to the area early next week to visit different municipalities affected by the storm, an agenda framed in the decision of the two to continue “constantly” the work of caring for those affected by the storm. , as Zarzuela sources report.
