The Kurmukoba festival was celebrated in Gakh

The Kurmukoba festival is celebrated twice a year, in May and November, at the Kurmuk temple in Gakh district. During the festival, religious rites are performed, sacrifices are made and hand walks are organized.

AZERTAC reports that another festive ceremony was held at the Kurmuk temple on November 23. The inhabitants of the region, Azerbaijanis, Georgians, English, representatives of other nations and also guests from the surrounding regions, set a true example of tolerance and together visited the temple, performed religious rites and sacrificed.

This temple, which preserves vestiges of the ancient Albanian temple of the Early Middle Ages, is a symbolic monument of the religious beliefs of our ancestors, a place of worship for people of different religions. The Kurmuk temple, protected by our State as a historical monument, is also the historical memory of our people, the material and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
