THE “La Caixa” Foundation presented its aid plan for people affected by DANA, which has an allocation of 5 million euros to act in the most affected territories.
Among the measures promoted, the creation of an extraordinary call for a million euros directed towards social entities of the province of Valencia who work in affected areas, with the aim of act immediately to the effects of DANA.

To speed up the management of this aid, the evaluation of the actions will be carried out by order of presentation until the planned provision is exhausted. These must be initiatives specifically aimed at responding to the emergency situation and immediate needs arising from the effects of DANA.
Interventions can be framed in different lines of intervention to meet the multiple needs of the current situation. THE lines of action defined are as follows:
- Coverage of basic and emergency needs of affected people.
- Conditioning or repair of infrastructure and/or equipment at the headquarters of the social entity.
- Conditioning or repair of infrastructure and/or equipment of other spaces intended for the care of users of the social entity.
In addition, the social entities selected in the Call for social projects from the Valencian Community 2024 They will be offered the opportunity to reformulate the project presented to respond to the emergency situation.
In fact, the entities selected in this 2024 call can also present their proposals to the extraordinary call in the face of the DANA emergency, since the two are compatible.
Emergency and recovery
He set of help plans of the “la Caixa” Foundation is aimed at the areas most affected by the cold wave and will take place in two phases: the first, emergency, aimed at providing a rapid and effective response to the most immediate needs of those affected ; and the second, recovery, for the long-term support of these people at different levels.
This will materialize in four main areas of action: emergencyfocused on supporting the rehabilitation, sanitation of infrastructure, transport and evacuation of people; social inclusionto cover the basic needs of affected individuals and families; healthfocused on psychosocial support for victims and community health promotion; And child careto facilitate safe and fun support spaces promoting conciliation.

The “la Caixa” Foundation will also strengthen its strategic programs to care for the most vulnerable people. One of the priority lines of action will be psychosocial support of the people concerned. In this area, the “la Caixa” Foundation will make available to those affected 115 psychologists psychosocial assistance teams (EAPS), of its Comprehensive Care Program for People with Advanced Illnesses, which will be coordinated by the two EAPS in Valencia.
On the other hand, through CaixaProinfanciaa program aimed at families with minors in vulnerable situations, the network of collaborating entities will be strengthened in the areas most affected by the cold weather and welcoming spaces will be created, of a recreational nature and promoting conciliation.
