He Ecological sector of Navarre returns with the central event of each year, the IX Ecological Fair of Navarrean event that combines the direct sales and the possibility of knowing first-hand producers, with a great program activities intended to have a good time learning and raising awareness of the importance of consume fresh, seasonal, processed and artisanal foods with the organic label: the Euroleaf. The fair will open on Friday 13th in the afternoon, all day on Saturday and until noon on Sunday.

THE president of CPAEN, María José Arrondo stressed that “the Ecological Fair of Navarra is a great meeting that brings together the organic sector and attracts many people. Those who attend the fair, in addition to buying, tasting or enjoying the activities, will also have the opportunity to know a sector that is booming, since more and more people demand healthy food, free of chemicals and produced sustainably. being a “strategic and growing sector, with more than 70,000 hectares certified throughout Navarra.”

Saturday morning, a craft sample which will feature wood carving, a blacksmithing demonstration, wool and a basket weaving workshop that aims to highlight tradition, creativity and craftsmanship, linked to agricultural and livestock activities. It will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Musical and DJ performances, guided tours, wine, bread and jam tastings, yoga, conferences, in addition to one gastronomic spacechaired by Geltoki, which will be open throughout the Fair to taste organic food and drinks at any time; They complete a program that aims to be entertaining, informative and awareness-raising in equal parts.

The Fair’s programming will begin on Thursday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m., with a pre-show speech in charge of biologist and nutritionist Elena Corrales. With over 40 years of experience, he will give a lecture on the importance of consuming organic food to maintain and regain health. During the lecture, he will review the history of food production and the beginning of industrialization with the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, herbicides and hormones. In addition, he will compare the nutritional values ​​of organic foods with those from conventional cultivation and conclude by analyzing the effects of agri-food chemistry on human health and answer whether foods cure or only prevent diseases.
