During the last regional legislature, that of Ximo Puig, the administrations governed by left-wing parties injected 3.7 million euros in subsidies to the Acció Cultural del País Valencià (ACPV).
This entity has called for demonstrations next Saturday in the main cities of the Valencian Community to demand the resignation of Carlos Mazón from the leadership of DANA.
Acció Cultural is an association that defends the independence of Catalonia, the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands, and is associated with Ómniun Cultural, the entity that participated decisively in the 1-O coup d’état under the presidency of Jordi Cuixart.
The Valencian Generalitat chaired by Ximo Puig (with Botanical Pact formed by the PSOE, Compromís and Podemos) has granted subsidies to the ACPV which total 307,000 euros during the last legislature.
The executive of Ximo Puig granted Acció Cultural its last four grants in June 2023, after losing the regional elections of the 28-M and before Carlos Mazón acquired the presidency of the Generalitat (he did so on the 17 July).

These are four grants of 20,688, 15,989, 21,014 and 27,000 euros to promote the use of Valencian. In all, 84,691 euros granted in a single week, with the Consell already in office. These figures appear in the National System for Advertising Subsidies and Public Aid, which depends on the Ministry of Finance.
The Provincial Council of Valencia, chaired by the socialist Tony Gaspargranted a higher amount to the independent entity during the same period: 380,000 euros.
The Provincial Corporation awarded the ACPV the largest grants in September 2020 (80,423 euros), July 2021 (82,265 euros), May 2022 (89,188) and June 2023 (another 93,441 euros).
Acció Cultural has called for demonstrations this Saturday at 6 p.m. the main cities of the region (Valencia, Alicante and Elche) to demand the resignation of Carlos Mazón, to whom he blames the mismanagement of the crisis caused by DANA.
Other entities such as the CNT union, the Coordinator of Democratic Memory Associations and others from the independence orbit joined the call, as Arran, Endavant, (both linked to CUP) and the Platform for the Right to Decide of the Valencian Country.
A seat financed by Catalonia
After becoming president of the Generalitat Valenciana during the regional elections of April 2019, Ximo Puig granted the ACPV two scholarships in 2020 which total 60,427 euros.
The following year, the Puig Directorate granted this association five other grants which totaled 76,353 euros. And in 2022 he gave him others 74,000 euros in six grants, almost all intended for the promotion of Valencian.
But the Administration that has financed Acció Cultural the most is the Generalitat of Catalonia, which, under the presidency of Father Aragonès (ERC), has injected 2.9 million euros to this independence entity, although it has its headquarters in another autonomous community.
The Catalan Generalitat injects Acció Cultural every year 650,000 euros, to help you pay the mortgage for your head officean iconic building located in the center of Valencia known as El Siglo, which was once a department store.
In addition to this annual grant, the Generalitat of Catalonia grants the ACPV other recurring aid to promote the use of Catalan in the Valencian Community: 265,000 in October 2020, 212,000 in May 2021, 53,000 in December 2021 , 265,000 in June 2022, 265,000 euros in June 2023 and 212,000 last July, among other amounts.
But the Barcelona Provincial Council (which was then governed by the PSC) also financed with others 150,000 euros to Acció Cultural during the last quarter, through annual grants of 30,000 euros to promote the use of Catalan.
To these figures, which total 3.7 million euros, we must add the aid granted to the ACPV by other administrations such as the Provincial Council of Girona and several town halls in the Valencian Community governed by the left.
