The left of Formentera demands from the PP the resignation of its number one on the island and non-executive advisor, Jose Manuel Alcaraz, to support the expulsion of the current president of the Consell, Llorenç Córdoba.
These are the conditions proposed by Gent per Formentera (GxF) and the PSOE, ready to agree on a motion of censure to overthrow the president. Llorenç Cordoba, if the aforementioned councilor of Sa Unió (coalition of which the PP is a member) presents his resignation and leaves the minutes.
GxF spokesperson, Alexandra Ferrerduring the extraordinary plenary session held this week, proposed to Cordoba to immediately resign with “dignity” and focused on the political responsibilities that arise from the report of the Ethics and Good Governance Commission, read by the secretary of the plenary session.
A report which concludes that, since the start of the institutional crisis which led to the departure last June of the eight councilors of Sa Unió from the government of Formentera, where since then President Córdoba has governed alone, there were “violations of principles and values” that the ethical code proclaims, which affect “integrity, impartiality, subjective disinterest, respect, responsibility, institutional loyalty, transparency and sustainability”.
According to this assessment, the Consell was configured in practice as “an individual institution” against the “principles of pluralism” “political, citizen participation and collective responsibility” imposed by the Constitution, European regulations and laws regulating local, national and regional authorities.
This damage, he adds, results “with serious practical consequences” for citizens with the “absolute paralysis” of building permits greater on rural land, licenses affected by historical heritage on urban land, the impossibility of imposing very serious sanctions, the paralysis of the allocation of moorings in S’Estany des Peix or the impossibility of sanctioning breaches of contracts with the Consell itself.
The councilor of Sa Unió, Javier Serra, assessed this report by stating that if at any time any member of this coalition formed by the PP and Compromís violated the ethical code, they would apologize. After recognizing that The situation is “very delicate”, He insisted on Córdoba’s resignation and reached out to the opposition to reach agreements.
In this regard, the spokesperson for GxF, Alexandra Ferrerassured that if the political responsibilities derived from this report are assumed, “the PSOE and we will start working on a proposal to form a minority government of Sa Unió”.
Finally, the spokesperson for the PSOE, Rafa Ramirezdemanded the resignation of Cordoba, denouncing that the institution finds itself in a situation of “absolute chaos for citizens”.
It now remains to be seen whether Alcaraz will make a move, presents his resignation and resignationand the opposition fulfills its commitment to support a motion of censure by Sa Unió aimed at overthrowing President Córdoba, and a subsequent minority government, of the aforementioned electoral coalition.
