Pérez Llorca stressed that the disaster “involves all administrations”, not just the regional one, which is why he “cannot understand” that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, did not appear in Congress or the Senate after what happened. In this sense, he asked for “political unity” for reconstruction.
The popular considers that Mazón denied the “hoaxes” that “were encouraged” by the left, “transform tragedy into political opportunity”. This is how Pérez Llorca spoke this Friday during the monographic plenary session of the Cortes, after a first two and a half hour speech by the head of the regional Executive.
The PP mediator affirmed that Mazón is not part of the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (Cecopi) and that its participation is not necessary to make decisions, as has happened in other autonomies.
In addition, he attacked the opposition for its ideological postulates in environmental matters, by not responding to requests from municipalities to the hydrographic confederations to clean the canals: “The left prefers to safeguard the reeds of the rivers, rather than the security of the people” .
It was also asked how many lives could have been saved if the hydraulic infrastructure which have been projected for years for areas affected by flooding. At the same time, he criticized the central government’s failure to send more members of the state security forces and corps. “Why do we, the Valencians, have to ask what the other Spaniards had from the first moment?,” he criticized.
