The “Statute of the Foundation for the Promotion of Moral Values” was modified.
“Informe” reports that the president Ilham Aliyev signed a decree in this regard.
According to the amendment, in paragraph 2.1 of the Charter the words “and Azerbaijanis living abroad” were added after the word “citizens”.
This clause explains the purpose of the fund’s activity. Therefore, the goal of the fund’s activity is to carry out educational work in the field of religious beliefs in the Republic of Azerbaijan, protect and develop moral values, prepare and implement specific programs in the field of relations between the State and religion, the activity of religious institutions in the field of ensuring freedom of religious belief of citizens and Azerbaijanis living abroad, as well as providing state support for the implementation of social projects in this field.
Furthermore, after the word “citizens” in subsection 2.2.3 of the charter, “and in accordance with the universally accepted principles and norms of international law, international agreements to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a party and the legislation of “The Republic of Azerbaijan, in addition to taking into account the legislation of relevant foreign countries, Azerbaijanis living abroad are added.”
Therefore, the purpose, duties and rights of the foundation’s activities are in accordance with the universally accepted principles and norms of citizens and international law, international agreements of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in addition to taking into account the legislation of relevant foreign countries, the freedom of religious beliefs of Azerbaijanis living abroad will support the implementation of activities in the field of service provision.
