Slovakia ranked 41st in the ranking of household financial well-being. This is demonstrated by data from the insurance company Allianz.
According to Allianz, the average net financial wealth of Slovak households was 9,160 euros, similar to that of neighboring Malaysia and Brazil. At the same time, Slovakia was overtaken by all EU countries, including Bulgaria and Romania, which ranked 35th and 37th, respectively.
At the same time, it should be noted that the total net worth of Slovak households amounted to 107 billion euros, 4% more than the previous year. However, throughout the year Slovakia fell one place in the world ranking. Experts attribute the country’s not-so-high performance to the worsening economic situation, declining real incomes and Slovaks’ conservative approach to investment.
The first place is occupied by the United States: the average wealth of its households is 260.32 thousand euros. Switzerland and Denmark occupy second and third place with figures of 255.4 and 172.2 thousand euros respectively. Among EU countries, the top ten positions in the ranking were occupied by Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, France, Austria, Germany and Malta.
