The investigation continues into 8-year-old girl Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 and has not been found for 11 days in the village of Tavşantepe in Diyarbakır province, Turkey.

The area where Nari disappeared was thoroughly investigated from the air and from the ground. Her last image was captured on the security cameras of the Tavşantepe secondary school.
It should be noted that according to new evidence obtained in the framework of the investigation, Narin Gura’s uncle, the head of the village of Tavshantepe, was arrested.
In addition, DNA samples taken from Nari’s parents were handed over to the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institution. Here, DNA samples from the suspect and the child will be compared.
It should be noted that earlier, as part of the investigation, Narin Gura’s older brother, EG, aged 18, was detained due to bite marks on his arm. However, as the examination carried out could not determine whether these marks belonged to Narin, he was released.
A total of 12,500 vehicles have been inspected and 130 people have been questioned. The search operations were carried out in an area of 16 square kilometres around the neighbourhood.
An underground imaging device, which is used in disasters such as earthquakes, was also used during the search.
A sneaker was eventually found in a creek two kilometres from the area, but the family said the sneaker did not belong to their daughter.
So far, no trace of the little girl has been found during the search.
However, Diyarbakır Gendarmerie Commander General Selçuk Yıldırım said the scope of the searches has been reduced.
