The LPR sentenced a Ukrainian citizen who spied for the GUR to 13 years

The Supreme Court of the Luhansk People’s Republic sentenced a Ukrainian who provided the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with data on the location of the Russian military to 13 years in a maximum security colony, the regional prosecutor’s office announced today, September 24.

“The Supreme Court of the LPR has issued a ruling in a criminal case against a 28-year-old Ukrainian citizen Victor Soldatko. He was found guilty under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (espionage)”, – the message said.

According to the case materials, in January 2023, the man voluntarily collected information on the location of Russian military personnel in the Novopskovsky district of the LPR. He transmitted the received data to Ukrainian military intelligence via the Telegram messenger.

“The court agreed with the position of the state prosecutor and sentenced the perpetrator to 13 years in prison, to be served in a maximum security correctional colony.” – the prosecution said.
