The provincial court of Madrid ordered the court according to instructions No. 26 of the capital to re -open the case of the proposed crime of threats against the president of the government Pedro Sanchez, for the events that occurred on December 31, 2023, when he was a linche and beaten the doll that represented him in front of the headquarters on Ferrz Street on Madtred.
In the car to which Europa Press had access, magistrates evaluate the appeal of the prosecutor and partially the resources represented by Sanchez himself and PSOE, cancel the decision of the judge -instructor to file a case.
Nevertheless, they reject another demand for Sanchez and PSOE, who asked the Madrid court to bring the case to the National Court, realizing that this is a crime of insults and threats to the government, which is imposed by a provincial court.
In the same way, the magistrates reject that the facts can be component for crimes of hatred and insults, indicating that this will be an alleged crime of threats.
The magistrates indicate that “the violence of images of the fact in which the figure hung from the rope and is beaten by cruelty, in addition to suffering from other symbolic annoyance”, “along with an abundance of threats against the recipient and the headquarters mentioned about PSOE – a hinting image of sufficient intensity, to profile, talk about serious threats.”
“At present, it is impossible to see that such threats have a sufficient justification in the free implementation of freedom of expression, even if they arise in the framework of protest, which has legitimacy, a priori, does not seem debatable, regardless of the political ideology that is behind their organization,” they say.
