The Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) asked the judge of the Supreme Court Angel Hurtadowho is investigating the Attorney General for revealing the secrets of Ayuso’s partner, the accusation of Pilar Sánchez Acerachief of staff of the chief of staff of the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchez. He did this after learning that the senior official had disclosed to the former secretary general of the PSOE of the Community of Madrid, Juan Lobatothe letter in which Alberto Gonzalez Amadorboyfriend of the president of the Community of Madrid, confessed to having committed tax crimes.
This comes after the former socialist leader appeared as a witness before the High Court after learning that he had taken to the notary the messages in which Sánchez Acera sent him the March 14, 2024 so she can use secret information on the president’s boyfriend before the press finds out.
Lobato then refused, suspecting the origin of these messages and believing that he could incur the crime of revealing secrets. Finally, the former leader of the PSOE of Madrid made these screenshots official after this case was prosecuted and the State Attorney General, Álvaro Garcia Ortizwas charged.
La Moncloa’s objective was for Lobato to use this information in the Assembly to attack Ayuso. However, the leader of the Madrid socialists refused and Sánchez Acera transferred him to Angelique Rubiodirector of elplural.com and current member of RTVE Board of Directors. Once published in this media outlet, Lobato used the information to accuse Ayuso in the Assembly.
However, once the investigation against the Attorney General was launched in the Supreme Court, Lobato had these conversations on March 14, 2024 before a notary, as reported. ABC. This date also coincides with reports indicating that the PSOE was considering replacing Juan Lobato with Oscar Lopeztoday Minister of Digital Transformation and Civil Service.
The Bar Association indicated, on the basis of article 311 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, that the summons of Sánchez Acera is “useful, necessary, relevant” because “it is closely linked to the subject of the information judicial”.
As ICAM pointed out in its writings, “the reason” for this request is “the statements made by witness Lobato.” After analyzing it, they believe that “it is necessary to obtain a statement from the person who was the interlocutor in the communications via WhatsApp and who turned out to be the source of the nuclear document that is the subject of the ‘investigation”.
This is one of the predictable steps after Lobato’s last statement. If ultimately, as expected, he appears in court, he could target his boss or take full responsibility for becoming the firewall for the operation against Ayuso so that it does not reach the former chief of staff of Sánchez or Sánchez himself.
If the latter extreme were reached, things would become complicated for Sanchez: López was his chief of staff, so if he were indicted, doubts would increase about the level of knowledge of the president of the government about this offensive against Ayuso.
