The majority of the prosecutors of the Chamber maintain that García Ortiz does not resign pending the evolution of the process at the TS

This Thursday, the College of Prosecutors of the Chamber learned the reasons why the Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, remains in office despite the fact that the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court will investigate him for the alleged revelation of confidential data related to the case. complaint for crimes filed by prosecutors against the companion of the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

The most sensitive of these data was the recognition by the defense of businessman Alberto González Amador that he had committed two tax crimes, on which he wanted to reach an agreement with the prosecutor who filed the complaint, Julián Salto.

The offer of this agreement with recognition of the crime was expressed by González Amador’s defense in an email addressed to Salto and leaked to the press. First, in a manipulated way, in some media (which claimed that the agreement had been proposed by the prosecution and then withdrawn in order to bring Ayuso’s partner to justice), then in its entirety in other media.

García Ortiz affirmed that neither he nor his entourage disclosed any emails and, therefore, he is confident that the criminal proceedings will end without negative results for him.

During the meeting, which lasted three hours, it became clear that the prosecution always maintained that there were no inappropriate revelations in the informative note – the distribution of which was assumed in the first person by the attorney general – in which the fake news about the pact offer.

The majority of House prosecutors agreed that Garcia Ortiz remains in his position pending developments in the Supreme Court investigation.
